The lyricist stated “My husband and I went on a mission trip to Mexico. We went to a leper colony to pray for the people. We approached this one particular woman who was blind sitting in a wheelchair. The disease had taken her nose most of her toes and fingers. My husband ask her what we could pray for her. She said “His Grace is sufficient for me”. We have never forgotten her statement we went there to minister to them and she ended up ministering to us. She had lost everything and everyone but God. This song means so much to me because His Grace is sufficient for me.”
