Story Behind the Song

The lyricist of this song, Wonderful Son, wanted to write this song about everything she wanted to say to her "wonderful son". She told YourSongmaker that she searched for a song for weeks when she found out that she needed to pick a mother/son dance song, but couldn't find anything that fit what she wanted. So she decided to write her own song.

After the wedding, she sent us a follow up. She stated “ My son Robert got married on Saturday, October 7. I wanted to let you know how happy I was with the mother/son dance and the beautiful song you helped me create. The wedding planner, Elaine, told me that while I was dancing with Robert the room fell silent as the guests were actually listening to lyrics. The female vocalist had such a beautiful voice and each word she sang was clear and easily understood. Many guests came up afterwards to let me know how much they enjoyed the dance. Steve S. was the first person who came up to me to tell me that he enjoyed Wonderful Son almost as much as the song he wrote with you for his daughter Lisa (Growing Up Lisa)! Our dance was videotaped, so hopefully I will be able to send you our dance so you can see for yourself how those three minutes were some of the happiest moments of my life. Thank you again for helping me create such wonderful memories with my son that I will always cherish!”
