Story Behind the Song
It’s Called Falling tells the story of many types of falls throughout life. The lyricist relates, “When I was five, I fell off my bike/I cut my knees and scraped my eye/Mama ran over and said it’s all right/Just get up and get back on that bike. Wise Mama advised that sometimes falls make you cry, but they’re always a learning experience. The next type of fall is falling in love, marrying, and thinking life is perfect. Then “one August day, the world turned around.” In this tragedy, “I could hear Mama’s whisper/It’s OK to fall.” Listen to wise words in love and sorrow in It’s Called Falling.
